What Are Teeth In a Day Restorations?

Until recently, restorations demanded at least two dental appointments, but at Contemporary Dentistry, we can give you a whole new smile in one day with dental implants. Before your dental practitioner replaces your extracted tooth with a natural-looking implant, however, dental patients must meet a few factors first, such as having a strong jawbone to set the implant in and healthy gums for healing. To find out if you can benefit from the teeth in a day procedure, schedule a consultation with our team in Fairfax, VA or Manassas, VA today.

What Is the Teeth in a Day Technique?

Our procedure begins with a local anesthetic and some type of conscious sedation for the patient. After extracting the bad tooth, your dentist will examine the strength of the bone surrounding the tooth before placing a titanium implant that doubles as an artificial tooth root. Bone grafting material may be necessary to fill empty spots within the root space. Next, our dental expert will determine whether a temporary crown can be placed or if a healing abutment needs to be attached to the implant before placing a removable prosthetic tooth so that you have a tooth as the implant heals. A final crown will be attached to the implant after it adheres to the bone 6 – 12 weeks after the initial placement.

I have been a patient of Contemporary Dentistry (Dr. Morales) for many years and my experience with his practice has been very positive (especially considering I do not enjoy dental work). He has always made me aware of options for treatment. Over the years, he has always reassured me during instances where I may need a filling, root canal, crown and most recently a dental implant. The staff at Contemporary Dentistry, including hygienist Amy and office personnel are very professional and considerate. Dr. Abril did the implant procedure and his expertise and followup care was especially appreciated. My experience with this practice is such that I have not explored other options for my dental care and consistently see them for my regular checkups. If there are any concerns between regular visits, all I have to do is phone the office and an appointment is available very quickly. I am very happy with the service I have receive from Contemporary Dentistry of Manassas and recommend them without reservation.

About Us
Who would benefit from teeth in a day treatment?

Teeth in a day treatment is often considered an ideal treatment for patients who have one or multiple missing or failing teeth, especially those considering a full-arch restoration. Candidates often include those with extensive tooth loss or individuals looking for a more permanent solution to dentures.

Can multiple teeth be replaced at once using teeth in a day treatment?

Yes, the teeth in a day treatment allows for the replacement of one, two, or many missing teeth at once, provided the patient's overall oral health is intact and their jawbone is structurally sound enough to support the implants.

How long can I expect my new restorations to last with teeth in a day treatment?

The longevity of teeth in a day restorations can vary depending on factors such as the patient's oral hygiene, overall health, and lifestyle. However, when properly cared for and maintained, these restorations can last for many years or even decades. Regular dental check-ups, biannual cleanings, and diligent oral care are essential for preserving the longevity and integrity of your new implants and restorations after teeth in a day treatment.
